My name is Jake,
and I love to travel.
Growing up, I was immensely fortunate to be raised in a family that valued traveling. From driving up California’s PCH to soaking in the lights in Times Square, trips around the country were the staple to my childhood summers. Being exposed to the world outside of Chicago at such a young age would prove to lay the groundwork for a lifestyle that I can now hardly comprehend existing without. The more I traveled the more intense my desires to see the world became, especially as I grew older and began to truly appreciate where I was and what I was doing. During my time in college, I was fortunate enough to be able to study internationally twice, thanks to the help of one of the strongest international education departments in the country at Miami University.

Not only has the value of traveling always been present throughout my lifetime, but the entire foundation of my family rests on the pillars of our heritage. I’m extremely proud to say that I hold dual citizenship with both the United States and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. My Great-Great Grandfather immigrated to the United States from Luxembourg in the 19th century to start a new life for his family, but he was certain to never let his roots wither away. Since then we have remained avid preservers of this heritage, with active participation in the Luxembourg Brotherhood of America being a constant in my family for four generations. The namesake of the brand pays homage to our homeland, as +352 is the international country code of Luxembourg.

The world is a place chock full of unique stories like my Grandfather's, resulting in an abundance of different landscapes, customs, and experiences that are spread far and wide across the globe. We live in an age where the differences among us are often weaponized and politicized, creating inflammatory social discourse that works to isolate us from our neighbors. Ironically, we also live in world that is more connected than it's ever been. I thrive to utilize my creative outlets to not only celebrate the differences among us, but to invoke the same feelings of awe and admiration that consume me while I am out exploring. What a privilege it is to be able to experience the world as the home of our collective humanity.

Traveling is the catalyst that fuels my creativity. The latter would simply not exist without the former. So long as I continue to travel, I will continue to create.
